This course provides students with an overview and the general knowledge needed for support work and caregiving. It includes issues and challenges in the workplace for caregivers.
This foundational program introduces students to the role of a pharmacy assistant in community settings. Students will learn about the history and structure of pharmacy in Canada, the roles of the pharmacy team, and relevant legal and ethical standards. The program covers prescription components, drug classifications, dosage forms, medical terminology, billing procedures, inventory management, and communication in pharmacy practice. Emphasis is placed on safety, accuracy, cultural awareness, and patient confidentiality to prepare students for entry-level support roles.
